Hello! I’m Philipe Carvalho, the owner and editor at Mirar Weddings. Ever since 8th grade, I have been working with a camera and creating original content. There is something immensely gratifying about bringing a vision to life and putting a story together, especially when that story is one of the most important days of your life.

“While reason is the natural organ of truth, imagination is the organ of meaning.” - C.S. Lewis

Like most teenagers, I had no idea what I wanted to do for a future career. I had my strengths, but so many interests that I was unsure how to translate them into a career. My parents always taught me the value of hard work, how to save your money, and the value of traveling. So before applying for university, I took the money I had saved from working throughout high school and began a journey that would ultimately lead me to four continents in 10 months at the age of 18. Once I returned, I knew I would work in the creative arts, capturing real human stories.

At UCSB, I majored in both film and history. This led me to Hollywood to work in documentary filmmaking. I worked as a story editor, development executive, production coordinator and associate producer, the perfect training ground for learning how to find the authentic, emotional narrative in any moment.

After a brief stop in San Francisco, I adapted what I learned to create my own company. I’ve since adapted that entire skillset to focus on what I love most: crafting wedding films. To me, it checks all the boxes: meaningful storytelling, the ability to get to know incredible new people, and the privilege of preserving a family’s most precious memories.

All of this comes together to form three key words that I bring to every wedding I work on: MAKE IT MATTER.

Your wedding day isn't just a series of events; it's the beginning of your family's story. It's my honor to ensure your film captures every meaningful glance, every joyful tear, and every moment of pure love, so you can relive them for generations to come.
